Technical Visits

Technical visits are a unique opportunity to explore the most advanced Physical Internet Implementations in real-life operations and on site!

In these visits, professionals from the hosting institutions and companies will walk the visitors through the premises of central distribution centers, warehouses, storage areas and other designated areas discussing in situ some of the benefits, problems, applications and solutions related to the Physical Internet  Implementations. The visits will be organized in small groups making interaction and exchange easier. The list of available visits will be periodically updated. Registered participants are able to choose these visits through the online registration procedure at an extra fee – which covers the transportation to the premises and refreshments served. Please note that some visits have limited availability and thus, they will close soon.

P&G Distribution Center in Athens: Monday, 12th June, 17.30 - 18.30

Athens DC (Distribution Center) opened in 2007 in the fastest growing logistics area in the country, namely West Attica Logistics Hub. Located on the main highway crossing mainland the DC is close to the port of Piraeus and adjacent to the announced future National Rail Hub. Athens DC is a P&G-operated conventional DC with in-house Customization Operations, currently serving only Greece & Cyprus markets. Over the years, Athens DC has delivered sustainably strong results investing in people and innovation, being for example the global pilot site for major P&G systems like Prime WMS and Voice Picking. In 2023 P&G Europe decided to establish a European Warehousing Center of Excellence located in Athens,  centralizing key operational tasks for all the P&G DCs in Europe.
