PROJECTS

JIDEP

The JIDEP project designs and develops a digital platform where industrial data is fused for interconnecting different sectors into the collaboration pipeline for data reusability and facilitate the unlocking of value from data. It builds upon the principles of Industry 4.0, by adopting a coherent approach for the semantic communication between diverse actors. JIDEP is a platform to any organization which has any kind of data obstacle to be addressed, on its paths towards delivering more sustainable product. Built-in tools are made available for unlocking the value of the data, which can lead to the development of more sustainable innovation. JIDEP is also an optimizing continuum, covering the entire product lifecycle and steering it towards circular standards implementation at technological and regulatory levels. The JIDEP platform is a tool equipped with resilience frameworks for growing capacities to withstand supply chain disruptions.

PILL

The PILL -or Physical Internet Living Lab- project is a 3-year Belgian research project, that aims on translating the existing SOTA and academic research on the Physical Internet into a universal blueprint for a Physical Internet framework. Besides a theoretical framework, the PILL projects will result in the development and validation of a technological Proof-of-Concept of a PI-network, consisting of a data standard, network connector, a decentralized route engine and a first PI-application. The Pi-network is built through an Agent-based Model and will be validated during several living lab tests with industry stakeholders and end in a roadmap to go from the current POC towards a fully commercial PI solution.

 URBANE

URBANE is a widely multidisciplinary project, including 12 cities, aiming to co-develop novel last mile delivery solutions combining green automated vehicles and shared space utilisation models. The project vision is to provide evidence of the real introduction of the Physical Internet in urban deliveries, as well as the creation of a Replication and Scale up Model for the LL’ exemplars, which will ensure a wide and fast introduction of successful smart green last mile delivery solutions in the EU cities.

5G LOGINNOV

5G-LOGINNOV’s vision is to optimise freight and traffic operations at ports and logistics hubs via innovative concepts, applications and devices supported by 5G technology, the IoT, AI-enabled data analytics, next generation traffic management systems, Cooperative, Connected and Automated Mobility (CCAM). The project comprises a range of port-driven technological and societal innovations, tailored to achieve a variety of objectives such as: automation for ports; generation of data on floating trucks and emissions and automated truck platooning; involvement of high-tech SMEs and more. All innovations are being implemented and tested in real operating conditions in three Living Lab environments, associated with the three 5G-LOGINNOV ports, namely Athens (Greece), Hamburg (Germany) and Luka Koper (Slovenia).
